Updates from Korea

hamilton-koreaYeongam, South Korea:

Practice Pace: Yesterday (Thursday) saw Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton set the pace for the day. F1 fans may not find this too out of the ordinary in spite of the Team Red Bull dominance of Sebastian Vettel. Hamilton and his partner Nico Roseberg have both put their Petronas Mercedes AMG cars on pole this season, and seem to qualify well, but lack the ability to keep pace in the long-haul. Vettel in his Red Bull car on the other hand, often uses early practice to check tire wear, fuel economy and long run testing, only to burn up the time clocks for Q3. At the end of Friday practice, it was much the same. Hamilton still a tenth faster than Vettel. We’ll see how it goes through the Q’s tomorrow.

F1 Grand Prix of Korea - Practice

Off-Track: Kimi started the off-track incidents with quite a shunt yesterday. His spin was collected by the barrier but not until it made his Lotus into so much road-side scrap.  Joining Kimi in his grassy exploits were Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez and Caterham’s Charles Pic. Here’s to hoping that Kimi has not done further damage to his already sore back.
